What Is The Ice Invaders 3v3 Galactic Showdown?
The Ice Invaders 3v3 Galactic Showdown is a one-day youth hockey tournament on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Northford Ice Pavilion in Northford, CT — the first 3v3 cross-ice tournament of its kind in Connecticut for kids ages 6 to 11.
Every team is Star Wars themed with a max of 9 skaters and 1 goalie. Division 1 (ages 6–8) battles for the Rebel Alliance — the Jedis, the Wookiees, the Mandalorians, the Ewoks and more.
Division 2 (ages 9–11) fights for the Galactic Empire — the Sith, the Stormtroopers, the Death Stars, the Bounty Hunters and more.
Every game is 16 minutes of nonstop cross-ice action with a running clock and referees to keep the game moving. Every player is guaranteed 5 round robin games plus semifinals and a championship final.
Every child leaves with their team jersey to keep forever. But this isn't just another hockey tournament.

We built this event differently. Every round includes a parent education moment from MB Sports Training — because we believe informed hockey families raise better players.
Teams are assigned by our coaches — not self-selected — so every child gets a fair experience and learns to compete with new teammates. And the entire day is designed around one thing: giving your child a memory that lasts longer than the final score.
This event may not be for everyone.
It requires a full commitment on game day — doors open at 8:15 AM and we play through to 3:00 PM.
Every child must be ready to skate hard, compete with heart, and represent their galaxy.
You do not need to have a team already. We assign players to balanced, fair teams so every child has an equal shot at the championship.

"Choose Your Side" Team Assignment — Your child is placed on a Star Wars themed team by our coaches so the competition is fair and balanced from the first puck drop. Rebels or Empire — the galaxy needs them. Each team has a maximum of 9 skaters plus 1 goalie.
5 Guaranteed Games — Every player in every division is guaranteed 5 full round robin games with an 18-minute running clock. No sitting on the bench watching. No going home after 2 games.
Semifinals + Championship Final — The top teams in each division advance to a semifinal and a championship game. Every player gets a shot at the trophy.
Their Team Jersey — Every child keeps their team jersey after the event. Not a participation ribbon. A real jersey with their team name that they'll wear long after August 15.
Equal Ice Time — Every player is on the ice for the full game. No benching. No favorites. Every kid earns their ice time.
Parent Education Moment — Every round we stop and give parents a 5-minute education on youth athlete development. You'll leave knowing more about how to help your child reach their potential than you did when you arrived.
Championship + Sportsmanship Award — Division champions receive an award. A sportsmanship award is presented in each division for the player who competed with the most heart and character.
Post-Tournament Celebration — After the final game, we celebrate. Every player, every family, every galaxy. This is what the day is about.
